by Bexs » Sat Jun 24, 2023 7:09 pm

I’m having a real problem try to undo a single mixer tap cartridge using mull grips is their anything I can do to loosen it, it’s absolutely solid and will not budge. All suggestions welcome. Image supplied.

Removed the chrome ring attached and simply trying to replace cartridge.

It seems to have an odd grip as it’s round with 2 flat sides as opposed to a hexagonal shape. However worried about damaging it and digging a deeper hole.

Hi beds,
You need to undo the chrome ring which holds the cartridge in place. Use you mole grips but protect the chrome ring with a strip of leather. The thing with the “odd shape” as you describe it is the operating lever - don’t try to undo this or you do more damage than good.
