How to Fill in Chasing Left by Electrician

by Skythepig » Mon Jul 31, 2023 11:55 am

Hi after water damage which is now dried out, we have an electrician coming to replace some sockets and back boxes which will involve chasing out some of the wall.
I was hoping to patch the chasing myself and wondered what would be recommended.
It is not going to be a lot, just 3 short runs, so is there any ready mixed rough base coat and finish plaster I can buy rather than large bags of plaster etc.
Wall construction is old stone, looks like sand and cement render, then finish plaster. TIA

Hi skythepig,
Since you already have a sand and cement render use the same material for the base coat but wet the chasing before you make good. You can then finish off with plaster.

Hi skythepig,
No just damp down the chasing so water is not sucked out of your mortar render.
