We want to fit a single glass shower screen on top of a low profile shower tray to create a minimal look in our new shower room. It will butt up against the tiled wall on one side with a bracing bar to support the other end as it will be 1200mm long.
We are employing a bathroom specialist to do the work but we are supplying the materials. I have found expensive kits for sale (including the wall profile/glazing channel, spacer pads etc) but I know that buying a sheet of glass locally would be much cheaper. That leaves the issue of fittings.
In view of the fact this needs to be a watertight set up am I trying to cut corners? Is it better to buy a complete kit? Do you get what you pay for? Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks.
