New brickwork - will it last?

I have had a small section of a wall rebuilt. The wall is at least forty years old. I enclose a picture of the old section and two pictures of the new work. I am concerned about how long this new work will last given the weight on the brickwork.

Hi henrypete,
The column should be ok for some considerable time, however the lack of weathering on the top and the poor mortar lines will shorten its life.
