Recommended Filler for gap between Laminate and Skirting

by nadim2000 » Mon Sep 18, 2023 10:01 am

Dear All,

first time post.

I have laminate flooring throughout a flat including the kitchen but not bathroom. A gap exists where it looks like sealant existed in the past (pictures attached).

What is the best sealant to use in this situation ? I was looking a Siliconised Acrylic Sealant (white), in this case produced by Everbuild which sells its features as mould resistant and able to deal with movement.

many thanks

Hi nadim2000,
A water based mastic is your best option because you can clean off excess easily and paint it once it’s dried. Do mask the floor tight to the skirting so the laminate remains unstinted.
