Bath tap stopped working

by iAndy » Sun Sep 17, 2023 2:33 pm

The left tap has always being tricky but now it just spins and doesn’t seem to “catch” on anything. I can no longer get it to open the water.

The right tap works correctly and you twist about a quarter to turn the water on and off.

What’s the best way of fixing this please?

Hi iandy,
The plastic adaptor which fits on the tap shaft has worn and there are no longer any splines left on it to engage with the corresponding ones in the handle. Using a coating of thick superglue on the adaptor and handle should fix it.
