I'm hoping to rack your brains for some advice on the wiring my inline fan to a new pull cord switch with an led indicator.

I've done the main install and followed a diagram which basically looks like this, found on here I believe.

I've got to the point with the switched live and live wire going to the pull cord switch. All I've got on the pull cord switch is L and N IN and L and N OUT. Looking at the various switches I've swapped/replaced and diagrams I've seen most have the COM connection. So I'm a bit confused as to finishing up the wiring.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated

You have the wrong switch, the wrong fan and the wrong diagram.

The diagram shows the fan as having permanent supply. The only fans that use this are fans with timer over run, timer over run fans are used in conjunction with the existing light. (It's dark, you go to the bathroom, operate the pull cord, the light and fan both come on, as you leave you operate the pull cord again, the light goes out, but the fan runs for a few more minutes then stops.) There is no light shown in the diagram. As it is, the fan has a permanent live and neutral, so it will always run, what ever the pull cord does.

The switch you have looks like a shower isolation switch, but that aside, in order for the neon/LED to operate correctly it needs a neutral which you do not have and is not required at a normal switch.

I did think the switch was odd, I have a separate pull cord switch for the bathroom light and the wall mounted fan which has a timer and works as you described. That's all good.

This wiring/fan is for an additional extractor over shower fan which I was hoping would work in a similar way, i.e pull cord and the fan comes on. Pull it off and it runs on the timer for say 15 minutes.
The inline fan I have is a manrose mf100t with the overrun timer.

Let me see if I understand you.
You still have the same wrong switch
You still have the same wrong diagram
You still have a fan with a timer that will fail.

You still need the right switch,
You still need the right diagram,
You still need a fan. (Preferably without timer)
You still do not understand.
You still have the wrong parts.
