Wiring two eye level ovens

by PH DIY » Sat Sep 23, 2023 12:38 pm

I currently have a floor mounted electric range oven with single cable (6mm) running DIRECTLY (no isolator or terminal box) from a 32A MCB, all installed by a previous owner many years ago.

I want to fit two eye level ovens rated at 16A, can I do this from a single isolator using the current 32A cable, and if so how please. Any diagrams would be gratefully received.

It does depend on where you live, here in Wales the kitchen is a special location same as outside and bathroom, in England only the bathroom is a special location.

You can still DIY but cost to register the work means not worth it.

One can get duel cooker outlets which nicely split the cable, but depends on the oven, some say you can supply with 32 amp, others stipulate a lower value.

Ovens do not have motors over 370 watt so no requirement for a local isolator, However ever kitchen I have had did have one.
