Tiling over Underfloor Heating

by billobach181 » Wed Oct 10, 2007 10:39 am

I am shortly going to Tile my Kitchen Floor over an Electric Underfloor Heating Mat. Is it best to firstly use a Self leveling compound [3mm thick] over the Heating Mat followed by a Flexible Tile Adhesive OR use only Tile Adhesive directly on to the Heating Mat?

The base floor is Screeded Concrete.

firstly you will need to board over the floor with insulation boards designed for underfloor heating otherwise all the heat will go thru the floor
the advantage of self levlling over the mat is that you will tile the floor a lot faster or therwise its hope to you wether to self level
