I have a combined ceiling light - fan fitting.
It has a wall switch which turns power on / off.
The lights and fan are controlled by individual pull switches attached to fitting.
I wanted to replace wall switch with Alexa smart switch which I did. This worked OK until using pull switch for fan. Smart switch failed. No fan, no lights.
Switch subsequently replaced and works lights OK.
Advice required to be able to use pull switch for fan (pull switch for light not required)
Or is there a smart switch which will operate lights and fan. (I have searched web but cant find suitable switch unless you are in USA)

You appear to be saying that the fan and light functions are controlled by separate pull strings actually mounted on the fan.
If that is so the fan only requires Live Neutral and Earth connections.
So no matter what switch you have there is no way to independently control the light and fan.
You would need to rewire it. (Too much trouble) Or you could buy something like Click here which is remote control.

To clarify:
The lights now operate through smart wall switch, pull cord redundant.
I need to disconnect fan from existing circuit and be independent from lights, to be operated by pull switch.
Can I modify wiring to give fan its own circuit?

Yes, you can change things to give the fan its own circuit. You would have to install a new cable from the lighting supply to the fan, as well as a new cable to the switch. It will probably be easier and quicker to install a new fan that does what you want.
