Removing Shower Drain to see Down in Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

Hi People

Sorry for another shower post

This is the drain hole in a house I just moved into. Was a couple in thier 30s that was in before. The lady said she often put bleach down it as she thought her hair was causing drainage issues

It still drains but would like to see what I'm actually dealing with here before it gets worse.

Would it just screw off and all come out like a cup? I guess I'm asking how would I clear the obvious gunk you can see in the pics

Hi rachaelsmith,
Suggest you try unscrewing or levering up the swirl top grid, if this doesn’t work use a cable grabber to clear debris in the u bend.
