Wiring

Hi forum..
Heavy rain causes flooding around my house and when it’s really bad, I loose power to some sockets in my bungalow.
Since the power loss seems to be due to rainwater I am wondering I’d the cabling to sockets is below the floor or in the loft…… we are in the country and have red squirrels in our garden…..I am also wondering if the squirrels have gnawed into the socket cables maybe letting water short circuit. The power comes back on when things start to dry out…….any ideas?

It sounds very worrying that the supply stops when it's damp and starts when it dries, out and nothing has tripped.
With that said, it is NOT a diy job and needs to be investigated by a competent electrician.

I would agree, but would ask do you have RCD protection?
