Remove and fill double socket

by moonstaruk » Sun Dec 17, 2023 1:43 pm

I’ve got this random double socket in our bedroom which I never use as we have two down below and it’s up high.

What’s the best way of removing it, capping it and fill it in as we are having wood panelling going up.

If you are wanting to panel the wall and no longer require a socket, you need to establish is the socket part of a ring or is it a spur, once that has been established you can then proceed.
The easiest option would be to cut a hole in the panel so the socket can still be used at a later date.
You can not just remove the socket and fill in the hole, that would be dangerous and can lead to major problems later on.

Or you could get an electrician round to test it and safely remove it.
