Tap thread replacement

by Twarden » Wed Feb 14, 2024 11:51 pm

When replacing an old, stuck sink tap I cannot remove the tap head from the thread column (stuck fast) and so cannot get the thread through to remove it.

When trying to get the tap head loose the smaller thread connecting to the flex hose has broken and will no longer screw back on. I can cut it off but can’t find anywhere to buy a replacement thread column anywhere - where do you buy one from?

Hi twarden,
It’s doubtful you will be able to buy an exact replacement and being cast iron you would have great difficulty fitting the new bit. Suggest you buy a threaded male to female straight adaptor and fit this onto the broken spigot. You will have to use one of the anaerobic joint seal to ensure a watertight seal.
