Recommendations for WC

by Mysteryman » Tue Feb 27, 2024 9:33 am

I am looking to replace a WC in downstairs cloakroom. Not looking for anything fancy, just a nice modern unit, probably close-coupled.

The one feature it must have is a good, strong flush to deal with those annoying bits of "large waste".

Can anyone recommend a WC that is particularly good in that aspect?

Hi mysteryman,
It is difficult to give a simple answer to your question but here it is - buy one from an established company. If they are U.K. based they should make allowances for potential build up of limescale in the internal chambers.
Undoubtedly a high level cistern will give a much more powerful flush than a close coupled cistern. The size of the internal flush unit will also affect the power of the flush 2” diameter will be better than a 1.5” one.
Finally if the outlet from the pan discharges into a rising soil pipe the flush will not work well - check the height of the outlet of your proposed pan and compare it with the installed connection.
Regards S
