HI EVERYONE,I WONDER IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME IN THE DESIGN AND BUILDING OF THE ABOVE. THESE WOULD BE HEAVY DOORS AS THEY WOULD HAVE TO FIT A 3mtr WIDE by 2.43 HIGH APPARTURE.I WANT TO USE 1INCH FLOORBOARDING WITH A DOUBLE Z SKELETON FRAME.I WOULD WELCOME YOUR VIEWS AND EXPERTISE. REGARDS IAN.

Hi, Sorry, I have been out for the last week, or I'd have replied earlier.

What you are doing sounds pretty OK to me. What are you planning to make the frame from? 2x4 or 2x6 I'd guess. Make sure the frame is properly mortised and tenoned together and remember the right way to run the Z. I could never get it right until the guy that taught me told me to think of building a gallows, with the angle of the Z going into the side upright and the top horizontal. He then told me if I got it wrong again he'd build said gallows and hang me from them!

Rebate (on the inside) or grove the frame to fit the “floorboardsâ€
