Fixing Bike Rack to Shed Wall

by Greek » Tue Jul 09, 2024 11:24 am

Hi,

I've decided to hang our two bikes in our stone shed onto wall mounted brackets. The thing I need a bit of advice on is how to use the screws that I have to drill into the wall. The reason being that I've never used screws like this before and I don't want to get it wrong. I've added pictures below.

Thanks

Hi greek,
You have what is called through bolts, they work well in brick type walls where you can drill a clean hole the same size as the sleeve. The sleeve expands at the end when the bolt is tightened so they are not very good in aerated concrete walls or similar soft walls . Check to ensure the end of the bolt will be about half way through the wall.
