Power tool - how to properly connect to mains?

by vhaltz » Fri Jan 03, 2025 2:12 pm

Hi,

I'm a total DIY newbie having trouble starting up a used table saw, Makita LS0815FL model.

I've never used power tools before so apologies if this is very basic, but it doesn't have a regular mains plug and the transformer I found online for it doesn't seem to fit due to the position of the plastic notch - attached an image of both.

The transformer is almost exactly like this one. Did I just pick the wrong one? Or is there some obvious way to fit them that I haven't tried? A bit concerned that I might break something if I'd tried to force it to fit.

Thanks in advance to anyone spending the time to help.
Cheers!

The plug and socket you have are NOT compatible, they are desigend not to fit for a reason.
Blue accesories are used on 240V ac
Yellow accesories are used on110V ac

Have a look for the power rating plate on your table saw and see what that says the voltage is that it runs at (Or take a picture and post it here.)
