Transformer Change?

by cambridgeblue » Wed Oct 17, 2007 10:01 pm

Hi,

I have ceiling lights (6) on a dimmer switch which won't turn on. I have been advised that I should change the transformer(s). Please can anyone advise how to go about this?

Thanks.

CAMBRIDGEBLUE.
ISOLATE SUPPLY.
THEN U COULD REMOVE TRANSFORMER AND MATCH IT
AT WHOLESALERS TO CHECK U HAVE THE CORRECT
RATED AND TYPE OF DIMMER.
IF MATCHED THEN OUTPUT OF TRANSFORMER WOULD NEED TO BE VERIFIED.

If the transformer is a independant unit then disconnect
cables noting mains in and mains out connections.
u will have isolated main supply before doing the disconnecting.
if the tranformer is riveted and can t be disconnected solely then the lighting module unit /unit could be taken in to whole saler.
