Car Port Lighting PIR 250w HELP!

Hi Guys

Moved house,and my carport has the following:

Under the cannopy, there is 1x 250w PIR Light

Then, at the sides, well inside, there are two more lights but without the PIR.

The switch is for this is at the end of the carport, behind a metal box.

Problem is, when I turn them on, the PIR light , goes off after 4 minutes, but the other two 250w jobbies stay on.

Ive traced the cable, and its a kind of master / slave type thing.

Theres a 3 core cable, from the switch, to PIR 250w light, then out of here to the non PIR Light, then across to the next non PIR 250w light.

The fittings and cable are in good condition.Ive taken the back off the PIR Light and there are 2 cables, (of 3 core,),

any ideas of whats going on. Ive only noticed this since those clocks changed!!

this sounds complicated ,bit concerned about light switch under the metal plate !!!!!!! right Firstly is the light switch exposed to rain,or is it IP rated(sealed) and suitable for outside use.
the wiring what it should be is the PIR light is first on the circuit from the main house lighting circuit or via a fused spur then connected to the live neutral and earth connections and for the other lights across the lamp connects on the terminal block normally white braided wire is visable and in most case a fourth terminal is provided,,these then link to the next light (brown)neutral (blue) earth (green and yellow) and then to the next light ,so when the PIR switches on all the lights come on ,but be careful of the loading as 3 x 500 watt halogen lights is 1500watt which will over load your PIR and lighting circuit the lamp size can be reduced to 200 watt or the smaller 150 watt if lamp holder will accomodate
