Hi im new to this and my problem may of been covered before. Bascially i want to attach a longer cable on my light, from the rose to the bulb, they are about 20cm long but need to lower them to about 80-90cm as i have a mega high ceiling. What size cable do i have to use, the rose came with 0.9mm 2 core (looks like it anyway its very faint) but no one seems to have this in stock and most say 0.75mm will be ok too. This worries me slightly as surely as its a thinner cable than the one supplied this cant be safe cant it? Any advie would be great

Hi, 0.75mm2 will be more than adequate, don't forget it only has to carry load to 1 lamp say 100Watt/230V= 0.43Amps it can carry 10 times that, only restriction being weight of lampholder / lamp / shade.
lots of pendants are flexed with 0.5mm2 as standard, so no worries,
