Thin Marine Ply?

by homesolutions » Wed Oct 31, 2007 6:44 am

Good morning all, i have an old bathroom that has got plasterboard on top of an old tounge and grove wall. I would like to tile the walls as i have installed a shower but i am worried that if i tile of the plasterboard that if the grout ever goes that it will start to penetrate it so i had an idea of putting a thin sheet of marine ply on the wall and then tiling.
Can anyone tell me if this is ok as it should not warp and it would be screwed to the wall?
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Lee

hi homesolutions,
that's okay and done a lot, saves the walls from damage if you ever decide to remove tiles again..
