Having replaced some radiators I found it necessary to bleed the pump. When I did this some water emerged and the note of the pump changed resulting in a fully working system. However i seem to have to go through this procedure whenever the system is off for a while. What is causing this?

it could just be air that's circulating around the system, it may take a few attempts at venting the pump to get rid of it. Did you say you've changed the pump ? is it fitted according to instructions ?
