Routing of gas supply pipe

by JohnW » Fri Nov 16, 2007 5:17 pm

My neighbour as recently had a gas fire fitted in the lounge. The gas supply for this fire is routed from the main gas supply at the front of the house, into the internal garage, presumably up to and across the garage ceiling, down the garge wall and out through the garage wall. It then runs externally along the garage before routed back through the wall into the lounge for gas fire. Is this safe? Is it legal?

Yes but sounds like rather a long run, as long they have correctly sized the pipes then shouldn't be a problem.

I don't think gas pipes running along an external wall look very good but it's up to individuals.
