I do not seem to get enough hot water from CH hot water cylinder. A friend of mine says that the thermostat on the cylinder may be too close to the hot water inlet pipe with the result the thermostat sends wrong signal to the boiler to stop firing even though not all the water in the cylinder has been heated. Any idea as to where the thermostat should be positioned on the cylinder so that the thermostat functions properly?[/b]

On my 210 litre indirect cylinder which has just been dumped when a combi system got installed, the boiler-stat was below the hot input, about half-way down towards the cooler output pipe, recognisable from its calibrated dial and flat lead leading down, strapped onto the tank.
