Leaking Cistern

by Hawkeye » Sat Mar 31, 2007 9:29 pm

Hi all.

Can't find any topics on this so here goes. I seem to have a leak every time the toilet is flushed and it leaks from one of the wing nuts at the rear where the cistern is bolted onto the toilet. Thanks for any help. Kev :(

Sounds lke the seal between cistern and pan. Remove the cistern and reinstall wth a new seal washer whch s a bg blaco O rng. Make sure cistern is absolutely square on the pan as this is the cause of most leaks in this situation.

Cheers for the info. Went down to the local DIY store and managed to find a complete kit with seal and wing nuts etc. Will have a go this weekend. Thanks Kev

Sorted. Correct it was the seal. New seal fitted and back in working order. Bit of a pig to get it sitting right without leaking but all ok. Thanks for your help. Kev
