Hi all, just wondering if there is a certian distance a socket/spur has to be away from a kitchen sink??, I know you shouldn't be able to touch a socket/spur if standing at a sink but applying that theory alone kinda depends on how long somebodys arms are!!

Hi Paul,
assuming you are aware of part p regs for kitchen....
there is no set distance under IEE regs. you could put a socket directly above sink as long as its IP rating was suitable ie an IP65 outdoor type!!!
however as no one would like the looks of them in a kitchen then rule of thumb is you put it far enough away not to get wet from spray of taps rebounding off of washing-up!
Usually 300mm is considered ok from edge of sink/drainer,
