Dark wallpaper joins showing

by indiaoscar » Sun Nov 18, 2007 1:50 pm

Using dark vinyl wallpaper the white edges of the paper do show as vertical lines whether overlapped or butted. Any solutions/techniques to avoid this?
It's not disastrous but a minor irritation.
Thanks

Hey, a simple quick fix is to buy a decorators crayon. You will normally find the wall paper manufacturer will recomend one. Either that or use a soft lead pencil, or similar this will help colour in the lines. Ive done this myself recently. Its a right pain when you get the line of the paper on dark papers. A great tip for the future is if your using dark paper again and the wall the paper is going onto is light in colour, then work out where each sheet of paper will meet on the wall and colour that section of wall to match the paper. When you hang the paper, if it doesnt butt up 100% perfect you will see the dark coloured wall rather than a light colour showing through. Hope this helps....let me know how you get on.
