emulsioning over wood

by berniesmith » Sun Nov 18, 2007 3:00 pm

I am repainting a room that has a dado rail half way up the wall. Instead of removing it, I want to emulsion the whole wall. Will emulsion paint stay on the wood, if I sand it down first?

I'd sand it down and use a primer as well. Have you considered using gloss paint instead, or do you prefer the finish of emulsion?

Once you have painted it, is worth painting wih a clear matt of satin varnish as it will scuff more than the walls :D
