Slow filling toilet

by Kirsten » Sat Dec 01, 2007 9:32 am

Experiencing a problem with the toilet filling up slowly after flushing. Sometimes it fills up slowly on it's own. Other times is starts of filling slowly, then builds up to full flush. However when it fills slowly, if I turn on the cold water tap to the sink for a few seconds the toilet starts to fill up at regular speed. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the problem may be? This has only come on in the last 24 hours.

Thanks in advance

I think the filling system on the toilet is scaled up.

There are things you can do to like taking off the valve and giving it a good clean, but there so cheap, you are better off buying a new one.

Thanks for that - it's certainly a possibility as we have that type of water. I'll take a look into it.
