Beading Help, advice, information, answers and tips on all types of flooring from laminate and carpet to timber and vinyl

Hi, I am trying to lay beading around my newly layed laminate. I can get all the angles for the mitres ok but I am unsure what to do at the base of the door frames. They stick out by about 3mm past the skirting so I cant just continue the beading from the skirting along them. I considered cutting 3mm off the back of the beading so that it would fit but I dont think this would look any good.
Any ideas.

The "extra" is usually cut back at an angle Rory or sanded back in a rounded way.

Sorry to sound stupid but by extra do you mean on the beading or on the door frame?

I'm assuming you mean that when the beading is laid up to the door frame it sticks out beyond the face of the frame by about 3mm. If this is the case the stciking out bit of the beading can be cut, or sanded back so the edge nearest the frame is flush with the frame and it slopes out gradually back to the full width of the beading.

Heres a drawing of how it is. I thought about cutting the orange bit out of the beading so that it would fit in but this would result in the beading being half the height of the rest of the beading due to the curvature of it.
