Cracked Self Levelling Compound.

by dj.trev » Fri Dec 07, 2007 11:42 pm

Hi I have just laid some self levelling compound down on a contrete floor 2 weeks after been laid the floor is showing crack like in glass from a center point there is quite a few of them

The floor was PVA before laying and if you press on the cracks they appear to open and close as tho there is movement but not sure.

Any Ideas what I can do to sort this. or will it need to be come up and be re-laid

HI dj.trev,
You want to mix up somemore PVA, give the floor around the cracks a coating or two, then mix some sand and cement 3-1 with PVA and fill in cracks. This should give you a bond and reduce movement.
When laying self level they do recomend covering the area leveled within a couple of days.
Good Luck, Kind Regards
