preparing to paint on new plastered walls

by mara » Fri Dec 14, 2007 8:12 pm

Hi I had my livingroom walls and ceiling plastered about 6 weeks ago, and want to paint them. Do I need to prepare them e.g. sand down or anything beforehand?

if you used a good plasterer you shouldn't, they should have left a smooth polished finish.
it should be ready to recieved emulsion, either new plaster formulae emulsion or a 50/50 emulsion/water mix.
nigel.

Thanks Nige, yes they did a good job, but I wanted to make sure before painting.
