Double Panel Radiators

by Lee34 » Sat Dec 15, 2007 8:45 am

Bit of a strange one this !

Down stairs on our house we have 3 double convector rads. Only one panel on each radiator of all 3 is getting hot. All the double panels upstairs are hot both sides. Downstairs, one side is bouncing hot but the other side is stone cold freezing. There is no air in the system, no leaks either.

The boiler is a worecester and is working perfectly well.

Does anyone have any clues as to what this could be ? Very strange how its just one side.... :?

Some of the cheaper radiators have 2 bleeding screws, one on each panel.

Have a good look at them and see if you can see the other bleeding valve and then bleed it.

They should work ok after that.

Yeh, they have the bleed screws on both panels, (nut with a screw in the middle). I`ve bled them both sides and water comes straight out. Its weird how its all 3 :? What are the chances of getting some sludge blockage on all 3, is this all it could be ? (or the rads are knackered like)
