Garage Flat Roof Repair

by Libby » Fri Oct 12, 2007 2:12 pm

Above the garage door, the edge of the bitumen roof is leaking badly and water is running down the up and over door on the inside. There is a hole about 3"x3". Shall I use asphalt and bitumen adhesive? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks to you all

Hi Libby,
You can use that method, but loads of products out there now for repairing leaks in flat roofs. Some you just pour in to the hole and it seal it up.
Thompson Roof Seal is a good one may.
But DIYDOCTOR has a project covering this sort of problem in more detail, I recomend you take a look. Under Flat Roofs in the Project bit.
Good Luck and hope this post was helpfull.

If you have found where the water leak is on your flat roof then a repair is very easy to do. When doing most repairs, I use torch-on.
