laminate and dips in concrete floor!! Help, advice, information, answers and tips on all types of flooring from laminate and carpet to timber and vinyl

I have a large front room 26ft x 16ft. Have had new concrete floor laid so I could laminate it. Have bought quick step 950 laminate (expensive!). Watched laminate floor DVD took 2m straight edge to the floor and there are dips and small ridges on the floor, they go up to about 10mm.
Have I just been really stupid and not done my research properly or can I go ahead and lay the flooring?
I have the super combi underlay.

British standard for the levelness of floors is I believe +/- 3mm, a concrete floor will never be perfectly level. This is where leveling compounds come in.
Firstly you say the concrete is new, please be aware that it will still be drying for months/years to come. This may affect the Quickstep laminate. A DPM may be in order.
Many different leveling compounds are available for different situations. I would suggest contacting the manufacturers to see which one suits best.
