Using a Steamer to remove stubborn Wallpaper

by Ritchie » Thu Apr 12, 2007 11:26 am

I have recently purchased an Edwardian House and a friend has advised that the walls are likely to be made from Lime plaster.

Is it safe to use a steamer (in moderation) or am i likely to ruin my walls?

This has to be your call Ritchie. Even used very carfefully on walls a steamer can lift skim plaster so there are no rules of thumb. Similarly an incorreect "dig" with a scraper can heave out a great chunk of unwanted plaster....
