Dual Fuel Heated Towel Rad

by chazzyboy » Mon Jan 07, 2008 8:52 pm

Evening everyone...

I'm planning to fit a heated towel rail in a bathroom, I was planning to tap into the socket circuit and put a timer and isolator outside the bathroom. I would then earth bond to pipes, etc.. The only electrics which woul be in the bathroom would be the cable outlet from the wall - Is this accepted practice ?

Putting is simple unless you are qualified electrician you are unlikely to get it passed under Part P. And if you were qualified you would not be asking the question. It is not the physical work that is a problem but the paperwork which needs to be filled in by a qualified person and a qualified person is not allowed to fill in the installer part of the paperwork unless he did installing. What you say sounds OK but since you need an electrician better to ask him where he can see the work and do any tests he thinks are required. You will find this same question asked a few times on this forum have a look at answers given to other people.
