fitting side entry taps into a wall to supply a bath

I am attempting to fit side entry taps/valves into a wall to supply a bath filler/overflow unit - any ideas on how is best to secure the taps/valves?

assuming the wall is brick i would set the pipe work and taps in some form of plaster/cement
if you are coming thru a plaster board drill the holes and seetc
