Help!
following the advice on this site, we have prepared the newly plastered walls of our loft conversion using a 4 parts paint to 1 part water mix to seal the plaster before top coat.
However, tonight, one area of the wall started peeling and lots of paint has come off.
We used a B&Q basic white silk paint (left overs from friends) and applied it with brush and rollers.
The heating has been on in the room with the doors and windows closed.
The paint is only peeling in one area (so far) - all walls are plasterboard bar one. The one that is peeling is plaster board and is the 'face' to the remaining loft cavity and therefore has cold air on the other side, although there is a 10cm thick insulation board behind AND is has only peeled on one half of the wall.....
so, HELP, why has this happened? and what so we need to do now to ensure that te top coat will be OK? we really do not fancy having to peel it off everywhere.....
