plastering

i have to board over a 1 meter square hole with plaster board can i use plaster to stick it up and i only want to give it a skim over so what can i use do i have to use a bonding coat and finish coat and do i coat it with pva and what side to i plaster white or grey side

You can use finish to stick the board up, this is usual. Use dabs on the back of the board then poush in to level. Then skim the ivory side on most boards. If neither side of the board is ivory its the face with no writing on.

what plaster do i use is there only one type i have to use ie finish or do i need bonding and finish as its only a small square i dont want to buy lots

As above. You use finish to stick the board to teh wall and finish to skim it. No bonding required.
