Laying floating wooden floor up to stone wall

by cobalt » Sun Jan 06, 2008 6:08 pm

Hello, I would like some advice as to how I fit a floating wooden floor to a concrete base. Firstly can I use carpet underlay and glue the timber joints? Secondly I have a natural stone wall on 2 sides and I am having difficulty in figuring out how I can fit skirting to the undulating wall. Your help and suggestions will be most appreciated.

Hi

I too am interested in guidance on laying wooden floorboards on a concrete base. I seem to recall when this was done in another house that I lived in, polystyrene sheeting was laid over the concrete, for insulation and anti-condensation reasons. Is this still considered appropriate and if not what is the alternative?

Rgds, Tony
