Floor Loading (Installing sauna upstairs)

by keith7 » Fri Jan 18, 2008 11:10 am

I'm thinking of installing a sauna in an upstairs bedroom and have found out it weighs 270kg (before anybody gets in it!). Will my floor support this?

The sauna is 182cm wide and 112cm deep. I don't know the exact construction of my floors but the house is 15 years old and of "normal" construction (brick walls/tiled roof).

Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.

I don't know the construction of your floors is either so the answer is I haven't got the faintest idea.

If you are uncertain then you MUST get stuctural advice which requires someone properly qualified to physically come and look at it IMO.

Cheers
