i have a vented ch system already and would like to add another hot water cylinder.i know i probably will have to upgrade my boiler.i am having an extension with another bathroom and i would rather fit another cylinder than make my existing cylinder bigger because of the distance between the old cylinder and new bathroom.
can someone advise please?

In principle a second cylinder could be added if the system was based on an "S" plan. You may however find the cost of heating the second store of hot water increases the overall running costs by a significant degree.

thanks for your reply,i dont know what s pack means.
i thought i could change my programmer to a 3 channel one and add an extra valve to heat the water in my new tank

Most domestic heating systems are based around a "Y" plan where heating and hot water are controlled by a three port valve. The valve directs the heated water to the radiators, the cylinder or both and of course the wiring is designed to control this.

In an "S" plan, each zone has it's own dedicated on/off valve so each area can be controlled separately.
