Installation of an external Parkhurst Security Floodlight

by Alex0106 » Mon Feb 04, 2008 8:34 pm

I wish to install an external Parkhurst Security (PIR) Floodlight. There are only two wires coming from the power supply which means that there is no earth. The instructions say that under no circumstances should this metal luminaire be wired to an unearthed circuit. How do I install a suitable earth facility? Or do I have to contact a qualified electrician?

Sorry will require new cables if earths are missing. Plus if missing then maybe there are other faults and a good electrician will normally test with expensive meters and insure earth is OK. Under Part P they have to give you paper work within 30 days which will have all test results to show earths to the lamp are OK.
