Existing Injected DPC

by jbwhall » Sun Feb 10, 2008 2:13 pm

Hi

I am a new user of this forum.

I have a mid terrace property in an area with high watertable.

The house was fully damproofed some 10 years ago using the pressure
injection system but this has effectively broken down and there is severe rising damp in all ground floor walls, although the plaster is in good order..

My question is it possible to reinject using the existing holes (enlarged to 12mm and then reinject with silicon cream or will I be wasting time and money.
If it is possible can I get away with not stripping the plaster and allow the propery to dry out naturally

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I had an exact replica of your situation.
99% of the injected walls were OK but, job had not been done round and in chimneys.
I used the cream all round drilling holes in the mortar between the bricks
this has worked. Mind all those 12mm holes so close to the floor, its hard work.
