I have purchaced a new bathroom mirror wall cupboard which has a light fitted. The associated transformer has a 2 core flex cable. what type of connector do I need to connect it to the house cabling comming from the wall. Should I use a "clock" socket or can I just use one of those terminal block connectors which are contained in a plastic box? The connection will be behind the cupboard.

Bathroom regulations are very tight. Where are you fitting it?

I am fitting it on a wall in zone 3.

Oh here we go again no Zone 3 in new book, if more than 3 meters from bath no problem but all work in bathrooms comes under Part P and not really a diy job. No plugs or sockets allowed closer than 3 meters so will need spur unit any closer and has to be permanently wired in. Which is why it has no plug.

I'm having my bathroom completely re-vamped so I am just getting as much info as possible beforehand to prepare for when the men move in so the job can be done as quickly as possible - I can only cross my legs for so long. By the way when I said "clock socket" I meant one of the wall mounted plates with a flexible cord comming from it rather than just a connextion box. I'll leave the actual connecting to the sparks though I had rewired my old house back in the70's but I know regs have changed.
