Removing phosphorescent paint from a wall

by The Silver Surfer » Sat Feb 09, 2008 5:26 pm

Hi, Can anyone help.

My sons wall has been painted in a space theme by the previous owner. The wall is covered with about a hundred painted stars (each star is about 2 inches across) the the 5 points of each of the stars has blobs of phosphorescent paint.

I want to smooth the surface prior to painting as the blobs make the surface very uneven. How dangerous is it to sand down the surface just being protected with a P2 mask. I am not sure of the toxicity of the phosphorescent paint.

Any ideas

Thanks

HI.

Home Strip paint and varnish remover will remove that type of paint. Take a look at stripping paint in the projects page.
