Washing Machine

If I have a Cold feed washing machine and not hot and cold Could I (which I sure sounds rather a stupid question) attach it to the hot tap rather than the cold.

DavyJ,
Why would you need to do this?
Your washing machine if it is cold feed only is designed to heat the cold water to to desired program's tempreture!

No - as the washing machine wouldn't work.

Cold fill washing machines heat the water to the temperature set for that program .

If you supply it with hot water - how would it cool it to the set temperature ?

What happens when the missus puts her best woolens in on a low temperature wash - and they shrink ??
