Repairing Artex

by ANDYTON78 » Thu Mar 06, 2008 1:54 pm

We have Artex on our living room ceiling. In two places the Artex (applied circa 1975) is split and is beginning to separate from the plaster. It's a huge room and rather than remove it, it would be easier to repair it as the splits are quite small. Is there any way to stick the Artex back to the plaster to stop it 'sagging' away from the ceiling?

you could try pva glue. i would coat each surface and allow to fully dry to seal (likely to be dusty and there's a reason that it separated in the first place) then recoat both surfaces and press together. might need some support while it dries -- sheet of wood and a broom handle perhaps.
